Laura is a nurse who works in the Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine Unit as well as in the ED as an MHE. She consistently has a great, professional attitude and way of making all families and patients feel completely comfortable even when they are going through a very hard time. Her calming presence and ability to step into any situation is an inspiration to the rest of us.

Recently I was working with Laura in the Emergency Department and she had a surge of patients coming in all waiting to see her. She remained calm and got straight to work helping each family. When she stepped into a room she lit it up with her warm personality and empathy. You could see the immediate calming effect on the anxious families as she took the time to explain the process and really listen to them. No matter how much she has on her plate she is consistently ARTful in her interactions and helpful to all those around her.

This is an example from just one day in all the years I have worked with Laura and seen her do such great work with all our patients and families. You can see how much she truly cares for all our families in the exceptional care that she gives. I always look forward to working with her as she is consistently thorough, effective, and Artful.
