Laurel was a nominated by a patient who underwent a stem cell transplant and a lengthy stay on our BMT unit. He wrote:
Laurel is the consummate master, bringing joy to my room and to my experience. She was serious when things got tough, but always with a twinkle in her eye. The fun that Laurel brought to my care was not only effective; she helped transform my experience into a spiritual event that was as important as all the IV fluids and medications I received.
