She went home one night on her own valuable time and looked up how to French braid because I have long hair, and it was getting to be a mess from being in bed.
I was in ICU with pneumonia, which took my mom's life. I was in a dark place. I was scared. Lauren went above and beyond and talked to me and sat with me while I cried. She had compassion. She went home one night on her own valuable time and looked up how to French braid because I have long hair, and it was getting to be a mess from being in bed. She wrote on my board, "You got this," with a little heart, and I would look at that when I found myself getting down. It's one thing to have pneumonia, but when it took my mom's life, it was a whole new level. Lauren helped me through it. She kept telling me to keep pushing through and would get me up and walking or out of bed and sitting in the chair. She was an angel. The world needs more humans like her. Lauren really does deserve recognition for going above and beyond. She didn't just rush into my room and give me meds, and leave. She treated me like a friend. Not just a person in bed. I will never forget Lauren's kindness and compassion. She helped get me out of the ICU. She told me what I needed to do and helped me get up and walk.
