Lauren dramatically enhanced my grandfather’s stay in the hospital when she cared for him. She was so kind and nurturing, and I, along with my mom and aunt, who visited my grandfather daily, were brought so much joy whenever my grandfather was under her care. For example, my grandfather had a bathroom incident where the room needed to be cleaned, along with his clothes and sheets. In what felt like an embarrassing moment for my grandfather, Lauren made him feel comfortable and not ashamed. She worked so hard to clean up everything and even thanked us for helping her, which we have never had nurses do before. My grandfather often doesn’t show his emotions very outwardly, but she even made him smile during this time and every time she entered the room. She would often check on him even when he didn’t press his call button, and she made his comfort her first priority at all times. My grandfather does not often willingly give high praise, but he repeatedly told us how much he loved Lauren as a nurse and everything she did for him. My grandfather has been in and out of the hospital for months, and his health has unfortunately been on a decline, which has made it an extremely difficult time for us all with lots of ups and downs. During this time, he has been cared for by many other healthcare professionals who have disappointed us and not made his well-being a priority. Thus, having someone as kind and driven as Lauren has been extremely refreshing, and I would recommend her time and time again!
