This was our first experience with a child in the hospital. During this stay, our three-year-old daughter experienced multiple seizures daily, and she was officially diagnosed with epilepsy. Lauren was our nurse at least twice while we were here. She was patient, kind, and wonderful with E. We were very thankful for her. There was one situation where Lauren went above and beyond to help our family.
We were told that E was going to be discharged around 1:00 on a Friday until Lauren discovered there was a prior authorization issue with our insurance for one of her meds. Lauren literally spent six hours on the phone calling anyone and everyone, trying to get this straightened out. She even stayed after her shift had ended to make a few more calls and to explain as much as she could to us.
She kept us calm and was very understanding, supportive, and empathetic. It was very clear that Lauren cared deeply for her patient and her family. She was very knowledgeable and professional, while still being compassionate. Thank you, Lauren!
