Laurie always goes above and beyond for her patients. Recently we had a mutual patient who was losing weight and not eating well. He made me aware that Laurie was making him Maid Rites. He mentioned how he enjoyed the food and was looking forward to it. I find this to be exceptional care and going above and beyond for patients. Unfortunately this patient became more ill and needed extra IV hydration. Laurie had even discussed the possibility of taking the patient home if needed. They ended up making other arrangements so this wasn't an issue, but the fact that Laurie was so willing to help with driving the patient home was a wonderful gesture. Laurie was also in contact with the patient and his family via phone to ensure things are going ok. I know Laurie and I know she goes above and beyond all the time, but this is one example of how she strives to help others. We are grateful to have a nurse like her working alongside of us.
