Larry's actions consistently reflect his deep-rooted respect and care for both patients and colleagues alike. His ability to forge meaningful connections with veterans and their families underscores his unwavering commitment to their well-being.
I would like to nominate Larry Frascella for the DAISY Award. As an esteemed member of the nursing team within the Interventional Radiology department, Larry exemplifies exceptional professionalism and dedication to patient care. In the face of recent challenges, including the loss of a doctor within his department, leading to increased constraints on the nursing staff, Larry consistently rises to the occasion. His readiness and willingness to assist fellow nurses by floating to different departments underscores his unwavering commitment to the well-being of our patients and the efficiency of our healthcare system. Larry's exemplary character is evident in his daily interactions. He approaches his duties with integrity, a positive attitude, and a genuine smile, regardless of the circumstances. His calm demeanor and composure, coupled with his professionalism, competence, and efficiency, not only instill confidence in our patients but also foster a supportive work environment for his colleagues.

Beyond his clinical expertise, Larry's compassionate nature shines through in his advocacy for veterans. He actively listens to their stories and concerns, striving to make a meaningful difference in their care and in their lives. One poignant example of his dedication occurred when he went above and beyond to ensure prompt care for a patient struggling with a biliary drainage catheter. Through his proactive communication and coordination with the provider and other departments, Larry facilitated immediate assistance, alleviating both the patient's distress and their family's worries. Larry's actions consistently reflect his deep-rooted respect and care for both patients and colleagues alike. His ability to forge meaningful connections with veterans and their families underscores his unwavering commitment to their well-being.

As a Veteran himself, he has an incredible ability to communicate and connect with our patients and their families on a whole other level. His genuine thoughtfulness and respect towards his colleagues make him someone others trust and turn to in times of need. In conclusion, Larry Frascella is not merely an excellent nurse but a beacon of compassion, professionalism, and advocacy within our healthcare community. It is with great confidence and admiration that I wholeheartedly nominate him for the DAISY Award.
