My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for quite some time and after a miscarriage and several years of trying we finally found success after round one of IVF, unfortunately that joy didn’t last long and resulted in a miscarriage and D&C. 

After loss people don’t know what to say, because truly there are no words to ease the pain. Appointment after appointment I just wanted to hear “I’m sorry”. After my D&C, this nurse sat with me and let me cry. I felt heard and understood in a moment where I felt like others treated it as just another day. This nurse made me feel like the pain I felt was valid and gave me hope for the future of becoming a mom. This nurse was truly a blessing to have in that moment and I am grateful for nurses like them. Nurses that take time to sit with you in your pain; nurses that acknowledge your pain and don’t try to find words to make it better, they’re just with you.

REI and individuals who want to be parents are lucky they get a chance to have this nurse care for them.
