After being diagnosed with lung cancer, I had an MRI to see if it had metastasized into my brain. During the procedure, one of my vocal cords was paralyzed. After 2 days of waiting for a bed to free up in oncology, Leanna’s face was the first friendly face I saw. I was mad, confused and indignant about my new situation and inability to communicate. Quite frankly, I wasn't interested in making any friends. Now, some people are made for this job, whereas others clearly miss the mark. Leanna’s presence at this time of my life has been a Godsend. She made me feel like I could have control of my life again, and it was exactly the care I needed. She accepted my son, who didn't leave my side, the presence of my ginormous family, and even my dog, facilitating everything every step of the way. I feel her contribution to my healing process to have been a crucial part of the way forward for me. It isn't just her people skills she brings to work with her, but the way she explains everything as she goes along, making you a part of your own care and the inner light with which she conveys this to the patient. She was my angel, sent from above.
