Lee Anne is an exemplary role model and leader for the units that she manages at Beaumont, Troy. Her commitment to pursuing higher level education has been an inspiration for staff to achieve their own professional goals. Lee Anne advocates for the education, empowerment, and development of clinical nursing staff. She strongly supports Shared Governance and has assisted her staff in developing their own governing bodies, the unit practice council. The success of the unit practice councils in addressing and solving patient care issues is evident to all staff. Prior to the implementation of the unit practice council there was no structured or effective method to implement change in regards to process improvement. Lee Anne supports evidence base practice and that quality standards are maintained in nursing practice. Lee Anne led the Maternal Child Health department in support of Magnet designation. Lee Anne's personal style is collaborative, warm and engaging, yet purpose driven. Lee Anne sets high expectations for herself and for the nursing staff throughout the hospital. We continue to learn the value of excellence in nursing from her every day.
A supervisor of Lee Anne's has stated "Lee Anne continually astonishes me with the breadth and scope of her leadership and administrative ability. Lee Anne focuses on outcomes and has led her groups to outstanding results. She successfully balances budgetary concerns without ever compromising patient safety or quality. She is creative in her approach, working through others, mentoring, developing and encouraging staff to be the best that they can be. She is a role model for business acumen, effectively partnering with physicians to develop and grow service lines, while never losing sight(nor allowing others to lose sight) of the primary purpose behind the service growth: providing excellent care to mothers and children in the community. Lee Anne has a rare combination of special skills and abilities, a blend of nurse, business woman, mentor and leader."
