Leeanna immediately created a rapport with my son and me. My son's stay was extended. I was frustrated and scared. Leeanna sensed my emotions and offered to listen, call the residents for follow-up, and coordinate with volunteers to give me a lunch break. When the volunteers were not available in late afternoon, she watched my son herself so I could run to store for a care item and then again for me to grab dinner. Leeanna cared for us both. Her care was instrumental in keeping me calm and tuned in as a caregiver and instrumental in giving my son the medical care and love he needed.

This is my first experience ever having a child in the hospital. I came here as a scared, crying mother and Leeanna put me at ease. Every time I broke down in tears, she always would give me a hug and assure me everything would be OK. Please recognize her for her smile, caring nature, thoughtfulness, cheerfulness, and for the high-spirited person she is. She is definitely in the right line of work dealing with kids and moms like me.

Leeanna has proven to be a great addition to the 7C team. Despite having started as a new nurse just eight short months ago, Leeanna has exhibited a passion in her practice that is infused with large doses of kindness and caring for the patients and families that she cares for. I have, on more than one occasion, had a parent stop at my office to share with me the kind and thoughtful care that Leeanna provided during their stay. Leeanna has routinely been recognized by families for going the extra mile for her patients and she shows that her compassion is a very natural trait. Leeanna's shining example is in keeping with her high standards and she has shown a dedication and commitment that is in keeping with our values for Relationship-Based Care. She is a credit to Unit 7C and Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters and we are very fortunate to have Leeanna as a member our team.
