Leslie was the nurse on duty for severhal days while our 18-year-old daughter was in SICU following an auto accident. Each morning, as we arrived in SICU and took the long walk down to Bay 3--not knowing the condition we'd find our daughter--we were consistently elated when we saw Leslie, we knew she was in excellent care. Leslie always made sure she was comfortable and that her pressures and vitals were in check. Leslie was extremely attentive and responsive to any questions or concerns we had as her parents, as well.
In such a difficult and traumatic time, Leslie provided a sense of calm and assurance that our daughter was the best she could be--given her medical circumstances at the time. The small things went the furthest: pillows adjusted, lips moisturized, hair combed and braided, meds dispensed timely, wet wash clothes for mild temps, etc. Leslie is a shining example of the U of I's best and brightest!
