Few months back a cesarean delivery performed due to impending fetal death, Fetal Bradycardia, the baby's heart rate down to 40s where every effort is made to minimize the time from decision to delivery of the baby. It was 1930 shift change time. Lily supposed to leave the unit. When she heard I need help I have fetal bradycardia in room-4, Lily just jumped to OR and setup the OR for cesarean section. Even though her shift finished she put the patient first and scrubbed for cesarean section. At 2000 when the scrub nurse arrived then Lily endorsed the patient to scrub nurse. The baby born with Apgar score 7/10. Mother and baby were stable after surgery. Lily's quick action and compassion saved this baby.

We had severe postpartum hemorrhage few months back. Patient estimated blood loss 4000ml. Lily Fung along with her team served a vital role in saving life of mother. Lily and her team stayed back till 2100. As a day charge Lily stayed back for patient, collaborated with multidisciplinary team, maintained a calm demeanor during the emergency, clear communication given to the frightened family members and delegated responsibilities appropriately. Patient had multiple blood transfusions. This Patient has been saved because of good team leader and team members. The family was so appreciative of nurse's team work. Lily promotes teamwork and collaboration. Her ability to be an effective and supportive team player, cheer the unit on during tough times and champion change makes her exemplary.

As a true team player, Lily helps with anything that needs doing, from a stat cesarean section to cover a shift or come in on her day off to ensure adequate nursing staff for patient's safety. She treats everyone, patients and staff alike, with respect. Additionally, she remains calm, usually with a pleasant smile, even in the worst of conditions.
