Linda also leads with passion- she wants every patient to have the best outcome possible- not only hemodynamically but also physical quality, and she knows that mobility is a key factor for even our sickest patients.
Linda is a dynamic and exemplary RN3 as she leads with compassion and passion for our patients and colleagues. Linda seamlessly checks in with staff, getting to know each person as an individual, and recognizes them for birthdays, life accomplishments, and events. Linda is invested in the staff's accomplishments, growing in their careers, and providing them the best opportunities that she can make happen. Linda is primarily responsible for onboarding new staff, which requires a lot of investment in setting new staff up for success- assigning the best preceptor for that person, scheduling shadow and hands-on experiences, registering for classes, and checking in routinely to ensure orientation is going smoothly. On top of all the work that goes into putting together an orientation plan for a new nurse, we recently completely changed the orientation format to align with the ML campus, and Linda has headed up and rolled out these changes with our preceptors and leaders. Feedback from preceptors and orientees has been very positive, and Linda can take credit for a lot of the positive results. Linda also leads with passion- she wants every patient to have the best outcome possible- not only hemodynamically but also physical quality, and she knows that mobility is a key factor for even our sickest patients. Linda envisioned and headed up the "Strive to Mobilize" plan for our ICU patients. She led the Unit and leadership team through the rollout of our mobility initiative, which provides active and passive mobility to the ICU patients with the goal of reducing pressure injuries, earlier extubation, and earlier transfer/discharge from ICU. Linda sets a positive tone for the Unit and shift- I frequently hear staff say how great it is to work with Linda and how supported they feel.
