-She always does more than she has to do.
-She is always helping out the patients who really can't do it themselves.
-We get a lot of older patients because we work in the Pulmonary/Physical Medicine/Bone Health, and there will be an 80 or 90 year old patient that needs his or her medications, trying to call their insurance, or pharmacy and the patients cannot seem to get through and get a lot of hassle. Sometimes since the patients are older, they do not understand so Linda is on the phone for hours trying to get it done for the patient, sometimes ordering a bed, wheelchair, or something as simple as their medication and she will stay on that mission until it is complete.
-I will go home at 5 and Linda is still here working on the patient and this is not requested by the patient, she just feels she needs to step in and help. You know what? It works and she gets the ball rolling and will make it happen.
-Linda is an excellent nurse. I am an MA, I work side by side with her and she always answers my questions, always helping me learn, or training me on something new every day.
-She makes it a point to know every one of the doctors and know the patients by name and face.
-She lets them know she is their nurse and if they have any questions to give her a call.
-She is there to help you.
-When they had the big storm in Gifford where all the homes were destroyed- she had some friends that work for Carle that lost their home- she was willing to help with cash, putting them up in her home, whatever she can do. She is always a very caring person.
-She is over the "Fun Committee" on our floor and we have exciting things going on but she makes them fun.
- She comes up with fun games and we have everyone involved even our doctors. We love and respect the doctors and we all work together as a team, no one feels like another person is better than the other. We treat each other with respect and I think Linda's "Fun day" helps us to do that. We sit around and joke and eat, find out things about each other, and everyone gets involved, I love it.
- She also helps Dr. Jain with all his baclofen patients; she takes care of their needs as well as the morphine. She gets the patient started and then Dr. Jain finishes. Then she assists Dr. Li with Botox for her patients and the EMG patients.
-I think she deserves this award, she is an understanding person with a good attitude and she cares about her patients and her coworkers.
