Lindsay's compassion is shown each and every time a team member is having difficulty. She stops what she is doing, actively listens to their needs, and guides them in the right direction.
Lindsay is the Manager of Cancer Services at the St. Tammany Cancer Center. Her responsibilities include the RN Oncology Navigation team, the Integrative Therapy department as well as support services which include the social workers and dietitians. Lindsay is very passionate about cancer care. She ensures that patients are getting into the cancer center timely. If a navigator is having difficulty getting a patient into the clinic she speaks to the team involved and figures out a way to get the patient seen. Often times that means communicating with several providers, clinic nurses and schedulers to make this happen. She does everything within her power to ensure that patients are seen timely. She is a resource for the entire building.

Many staff members from various areas in the building go to Lindsay for support and guidance Lindsay leads the Cancer Center''s Ruby''s Kids event. This event allows children/grandchildren of loved ones going through a cancer journey to have presents that they may not have gotten otherwise. She coordinates ticket sales, and meetings, and has frequent communications with the Ruby''s Kids sponsor to make this event special. There is a lot of work that goes into this event. On the day of the event, Lindsay makes her way around to all of the families and talks to the children and patients. She takes pictures of the families with Santa and he always has kind uplifting words of encouragement.

Lindsay is very patient-centered and loves the work she does in Oncology. She may not provide direct patient care but she ensures that patients are getting seen at the cancer center timely and have the best patient experience. She leads her team with kindness and compassion and will always step in to help when needed. She even helps in other areas of the cancer center when needed. Lindsay's vision for innovation and partnership aligns with STHS. Lindsay is always looking for ways to expand the integrative services offered at the cancer center in order to meet the needs of the patients. She works with local businesses to help provide some of the needed services that we are otherwise unable to provide. Linsday definitely demonstrates the value of teamwork. She helps her team with anything that is needed including scheduling of patients. She often puts her own work aside in order to help her team. Lindsay demonstrates the value of trust by providing her team with the support they need. They trust that she will step in and help them in any way possible. Lindsay's compassion is shown each and every time a team member is having difficulty. She stops what she is doing, actively listens to their needs, and guides them in the right direction. Linsday makes quality care a priority. She holds monthly meetings with staff and reviews quality metrics such as patients seen in less than 7 business days along with patient experience scores. She encourages the team to voice their ideas. Lindsay is very passionate about quality patient care.

There was a situation where a patient had to wait an extended period of time for her appointment. Lindsay was made aware of the situation and reached out to the patient to get more information and explain the delay. She then went to the provider who was involved, explained what happened with the patient, and worked through a process so this delay would not happen again. Lindsay goes above and beyond her job duty almost every day. On one particular occasion, the RN navigators were getting bombarded with messages from clinic staff for patients who needed to be rescheduled. The navigators were very busy in their multi-disciplinary clinics and could not get to the clinic reschedules. Lindsay stopped what she was doing and helped the clinic and navigators reschedule the necessary patients. The team was very appreciative.
