My mother has been a patient at Baptist DeSoto at least 20 times in the past 4 years. During this time she has had some excellent nurses, but there is one nurse that outshines every one of them. Her name is Lindsay Hudson, and she is an ICU nurse. Of all the hospitalizations my momma has had she is the only nurse that has moved and repositioned my mother to prevent bed sores. Lindsay comes into the room and moves her patient at least every 2 hours. She has told me when I commented on her doing it that there is no excuse for any patient to get a bedsore on her watch. I was so impressed with her the first time she was my mom's nurse that I never forgot her name.

Lindsay is a hard worker, diligent in her care, pleasant to talk to, kind and compassionate to the needs of her patient as well as the family. It may seem like a small thing to nominate a nurse that moves her patients, but Lindsay is a little gal and if she can't move the patient she gets help from other hospital staff to help her.

My family always feels blessed when Lindsay is assigned to care for my momma, because we know she is going to go "above and beyond" any other nurse in the hospital. We have had other good nurses, but none in comparison to this young woman. Lindsay is worthy of extra recognition for going "above and beyond" daily.
