She truly cares about her employees and treats us like we are family members. We can go to her for anything, and she is always super kind and compassionate.
I would like to nominate Lindy Legoh for the Nurse Leader DAISY Award as she truly deserves it. Lindy is truly one of a kind and has made such a difference in my life. Never did I think when I accepted my first nursing job that I would be also acquiring the best mentor ever. Lindy is an exceptional manager and one of a kind. She truly cares about her employees and treats us like we are family members. We can go to her for anything, and she is always super kind and compassionate.

When our unit became a Covid Unit, Lindy made sure that all of us knew how appreciative she was of us. When any of us became infected with Covid, Lindy helped us by ensuring that we were sent a bouquet of flowers while we recovered. While this may not seem like much, it truly meant a lot to us because we felt like we mattered to the unit and were not just another disposable employee. We also had a nurse, unfortunately, pass away from cancer. Lindy was instrumental in establishing an award in honor of this nurse since she knew how important he was to all of us and that his memory be kept alive. Another thing that Lindy would do is treat the unit to boba on many occasions, which was always greatly appreciated. It is a tradition that I have carried on to my new unit because I know how much small acts of appreciation mean to the staff, thanks to Lindy.

Because of Lindy and her support, I have had so many opportunities presented to me and have excelled in my own life and career. I truly believe that this was all possible because of her. When I expressed to Lindy that I would like to eventually move towards a career as a charge nurse, Lindy took me under her wing and helped me make that dream a reality. Even now, she is no longer my manager, but she still takes the time to check in on me and inspires me to be my very best. Lindy also noticed a trend with increases in patient falls on the units and made it her personal mission to research ways to keep our patients safe while in our care. I wish there were more people in leadership like Lindy because she makes coming to work fun and really lives each one of Loma Linda's values.
