My 6-year-old daughter was admitted for complications with pneumonia and ended up needing a chest tube to drain fluid around her lungs. This was an extremely difficult and painful time for my daughter and me as her mom to watch her go through this. My daughter was constantly in pain, and every time we called, Lisa came with pain medication or a warm pack to soothe my daughter and help her get through the pain. Any time my daughter was scared of a needle or anything being done to her, Lisa just knew how to soothe her and put a smile back on her face. My daughter constantly said Lisa, you’re my favorite. Those mornings when I barely had any sleep, Lisa would ask me if I was OK because she just knew what a rough night I had. For all the amazing qualities I mentioned here and for being the best nurse my daughter could have had, we nominate Lisa for the DAISY Award. Thank you so much, Lisa, for getting us through it all!!
