Lisa came in on her day off to give my daughter a pot of spring bulbs to help brighten her day.
When my daughter came in for her 5th ECT treatment she was very upset and hopeless. These treatments are very miserable for a patient who is already anxious and seriously depressed. Lisa recognized that she was even more distressed and hopeless on this day. Lisa recognized her distress and was even more supportive. She tried to help her relax by finding a station on the TV that played soothing music with relaxing pictures. She was scheduled 2 days later for another treatment. Lisa was not scheduled to work, but came in on her day off, to give my daughter a pot of spring bulbs to help brighten her day. She said she wanted to give her something to look forward to. We all need something to look forward to. This was so touching and way beyond her job description. It did brighten my daughter's day.
Lisa went out of her way to make a patient, who was in significant distress, feel noticed and cared for. This was so touching; I'll never forget how she raised both of our spirits. In addition, my daughter really is happy to have the daffodils coming up as she finishes her treatments. Lisa exemplifies the best of what a nurse can be and is a true DAISY Nurse for her professional and outstanding work.
