Lisa found out that one of her patients, who was suffering from lung cancer and having multiple procedures, was having her birthday. However, there was no one around to celebrate with her. When the patient went to one of her procedures, Lisa went out and got a Happy Birthday banner, had the staff sign it, and hung it up in the patient's room. When the patient returned, Lisa and the staff went in and sung her Happy Birthday. She was so happy she had a smile from ear to ear.
This random act of kindness is what is so special about our nurses. Lisa just makes it her practice to truly help others and show her compassion and love for her patients. I am so honored to be working on such an amazing unit with such amazing nurses.
