Dear Nurse Lisa,
We want to tell you "thank you", for your gentle way and your empathy after our car accident north of Richmond on Aug. 9th. T and I are healing and doing well thanks to the good care we received in your hospital. When T had to stay in emergency (orange) you calmed me by saying nurses and doctors would be just a few feet away all night. Then you got me his phone # so when the cell phones quit we could talk anytime, if we needed to hear each other's voice. You were there like a best friend.

Lisa is a Supplemental nurse assigned to M9W and received a trauma patient from the ED. The trauma patient was in a motor vehicle accident with her husband, the husband was staying in the CDU overnight. The couple was traveling thru Richmond on their way back to Roanoke. The patient was anxious due to the accident and from being separated from her husband. With both of their cell phones dead, the couple lacked ability to communicate with each other as needed to feel secure in knowing their spouse was just a phone call away. As you can see by the letter they were very appreciated of Lisa efforts to keep them connected to each other during a stressful life experience.
