Lisa went above and beyond to get to know this patient.
A patient saw a provider in the Gastroenterology Clinic. He had another appointment in a different department, but it was three or four hours later. The patient was from an assisted living facility, and his driver left and would pick him up later. The man was alone. Lisa and others helped the patient. He was moved to a more comfortable chair with pillows. He was given a warm blanket. Lisa went above and beyond to get to know this patient, as she's talked to him on the phone before.
She knew he was diabetic, so she asked him if he wanted something to eat or drink. He said he didn't have his wallet. Lisa asked him what he would like, and she went to the cafeteria and got it for him. He was brought a tray table so he could eat comfortably. Throughout the time he was sitting in Gastroenterology, I saw several co-workers ask him if he was okay, if he needed anything, or needed a bathroom break. It was wonderful to see how many co-workers stepped up to help.
