Lissette Hutsko works the night shift on the eighth floor. She has been my nurse on numerous occasions and always provides me with extraordinary care. The qualities that she displays are ones that draw the line between being a good nurse and a great nurse. She always enters the room with a smile. It's a small gesture but very comforting, especially in a pediatric environment. Her smile displays her calm attitude and it has the ability to ease my mind, even during bad situations. During my multiple admissions to All Children's, Lissette has always made me feel like a priority. She manages her time so efficiently, making me feel important as her patient. I know that when I need something she will do whatever she can to get it. I know that when I am in her care, all of my patient needs will be met. Despite my age, she takes all of my concerns seriously and is always ready to help.
As a teenager who does not have my parents here at the hospital, she makes me feel comfortable and optimistic about my situation. Her ability to ease my mind is impeccable and admirable. On one particular night, I was feeling incredibly lonely and missed my mother very much. I was able to see how much Lissette cared when she entered the room and offered to braid my hair. She is extremely knowledgeable, compassionate, empathetic and great with prioritizing. Overall, she has made my admission at this hospital much better.

Lissette is an asset to pediatric medicine. She joined our team 10 months ago. From the first minute she joined the team, she has been a great addition. She goes above and beyond to help her coworkers. She takes time to sit with families no matter what she has going on. She has excellent time management skills and is overall a kind, caring dedicated nurse. She is extremely deserving of this award.
