Lisy was a savior in a very bleak moment. When I came into the ICU with a hemoglobin level of 3.1 and was terrified and alone because it was my first time away from home with something serious going on, Lisy explained to me that she and the staff would be with me every step of the way and affirmed that I was in good hands. She checked on me all the time and constantly asked how I was adjusting. She even stayed after her shift while nine months pregnant to make sure everything was taken care of for me and to personally introduce the next nurse so that I felt comfortable.
She really listened to my needs. When the IV was hurting but I had super small veins so it hurt she would hold my hand in a certain way and installed the solution so that it didn't hurt. She was very well educated and knew how to talk to me. I had amazing other nurses and doctors as well, but she stood out. So I thank you, Lisy. You're amazing and you definitely deserve this award by not only being an amazing nurse but almost a mother in the occasion that mine could not be around.
