It was yet another busy day at Shepherd Center. Liz Charge Nurse was doing her regular duties when she got information about another unit needing help. They were down one nurse and it was time for med pass. Liz stopped what she was doing, made sure her nurses were good then headed over to the other floor to do their med pass. When she was done, two patients on her own unit needed to go to Piedmont. Liz quickly found a stretcher and started getting one of the patients ready while Amy took the ambulatory one over first. While searching for a stretcher, Liz discovered that another unit had borrowed ours and she had to go find it. After 5 minutes of searching she found one and brought it back to load up the patient. She then took the patient over to Piedmont around 9:35 pm. When I left at 10:30 pm she was still at Piedmont. Not one time did she complain, call staffing to request another nurse, or say she could not help. SHE CHARGED! Liz took over and got it done and that deserves an entire bouquet of daisies. She sent one of her nurses to the other floor to help them at 11pm. Now that's what I call a team player. Liz Alley rocks!
