Four days after I had my baby, I was admitted back to the Family Place. My blood pressure was high. The doctors did everything they could to get my blood pressure down but nothing was working. I had lost hope, and I thought I was going to die, but then I was transferred to the Family Place. Liz became my nurse. When I first met her she was bubbly and so happy - just a joy to be around. The first thing she said was, 'My name is Liz and I'm going to take real good care of you.' That was the beginning of saving my life. The next seven days would be the best seven days that I have ever experienced at a hospital. Ms. Liz would come into my room and talk with me and make sure I took my meds on time. Also, when I felt like giving up she wouldn't let me. She would always say to me - 'Ms. Liz is going to take real good care of you' and 'If you just do what Ms. Liz says, everything going to be alright.' This lady went beyond and above to make me feel special and it is two years later and she still has an impact on my life. If it wasn't for her, I wouldn't be here today. Thank you so much, Ms. Liz. You made me feel like I was one of your grandchildren, and for that, you are my everything.
