Ms. Liza is trustworthy, professional, and a very workaholic leader.
Liza's clinical skill and especially her compassionate care exemplifies the kind of nurse that our patients, their families, and our staff recognize as an outstanding role model as per criteria, being a Nurse Manager or Head of the Department is a very challenging position. Ms. Liza Benson is a magnificent and admirable Head Nurse of the Out-Patient Department. She creates an environment that fosters care and compassion. She stressed that all nursing staff should be wholeheartedly involved in hourly rounding so that everyone will be part of providing care and safety to patients.
Ms. Liza always does daily rounds in the areas and makes sure that her area is ready and the hourly rounding is done on time and accordingly. If there are assigned staff who missed doing the hourly rounding due to busy clinics, Ms. Liza is the one who's doing it during her rounds. We all know that Hourly Rounding is one of the tools that provide patient safety, decreases patients' anxiety, improves the quality of care and patient satisfaction, and improves communication of nurses to patients and their loved ones thus decreasing patient complaints during their appointment time. She makes sure that patients are comfortable and safe during their waiting time in the waiting area. She always reiterates to all staff that patients should be treated with respect and dignity no matter what age or race they are.
Whenever Ms. Liza saw patients that are on the stretchers or patients to be prioritized she directly calls the assigned clinics in order to promptly cater to the patient. Ms. Liza never hesitates to help any patient that approaches her. She's always ready to help anyone. Ms. Liza always reminds staff to smile and be kind about how heavy or busy our clinics are. She's always accessible, available, and responsive to the needs of others. After her working hours, even at night or even on weekends, staff don’t hesitate to call her because she's always ready to answer and provide help whatever issues occur in the area or any emergencies.
I remembered, it was late in the afternoon and most of the staff went home already; one staff came to her office complaining of chest pain, this staff has a history of heart surgery. She immediately ran to get a wheelchair and send the staff to the Emergency Room. She made sure that the staff was ok before she left home.
Ms. Liza is trustworthy, professional, and a very workaholic leader. She managed the department with patience, flexibility, and dedication. She's very clever when it comes to problem-solving and decision-making. Whatever problems occur in the area she can solve them right away especially for the patients. She's helping areas that are busy. Even with admissions, she's volunteering herself to send patients. There are a lot of attributes that Ms. Liza has that make her an extraordinary nurse.
