He takes the time to understand individual strengths and challenges, providing tailored mentorship that fosters growth and development. His approachability and willingness to listen create an environment where team members feel empowered to seek guidance and support.
I am writing to nominate Logan for the DAISY Nurse Leader Award. Logan's hard work, dedication, and exemplary leadership qualities make him stand out as an exceptional candidate for this recognition. Logan's commitment to excellence is unmatched. He consistently goes above and beyond in his role, setting a high standard for others to follow. His dedication to our team and the organization is evident in every task he undertakes. One aspect that truly sets Logan apart is his role as a mentor. As a manager, I have personally experienced Logan's unwavering support and guidance. He takes the time to understand individual strengths and challenges, providing tailored mentorship that fosters growth and development. His approachability and willingness to listen create an environment where team members feel empowered to seek guidance and support. Logan's leadership extends beyond his direct responsibilities. He is always willing to lend a helping hand to others, whether it's assisting with a challenging project or offering advice during times of uncertainty. His collaborative spirit fosters a sense of camaraderie within the team, driving us towards shared goals and success.
One instance that exemplifies Logan's leadership occurred when Barnard 5 had a challenging day that required a lot of attention and leadership support. When faced with several challenging situations, Logan stepped up to the plate, demonstrating poise, decisiveness, and empathy. His ability to navigate challenges while keeping the team motivated and focused was truly inspiring.
In summary, Logan embodies the qualities of an outstanding leader: dedication, mentorship, supportiveness, and resilience. He is a shining example of leadership excellence, and I believe he is highly deserving of the DAISY Nurse Leader Award.

One thing that really motivated me to apply for the nurse manager position was knowing that Logan would be my director. When you have trust in your leader and faith that his guidance and support will assist you in becoming the best person for the job, that makes the decision much easier. Logan goes above and beyond, provides timely feedback, recognizes, and rewards his team. These qualities make me feel like I am doing a good job. He is flexible, available to all shifts, and is always working elbow-to-elbow with us to support things like bedside shift reports. I am always comfortable reaching out to him because he is a phone call or a text away and will help in any way he can. Although he has come a long way, his feet are still rooted to the ground, and he has remained an empathetic leader. He can step into the shoes of team members, always looking for what is important to them, what their priorities are, and identifying common ground. He focuses on identifying with others and understanding their perspectives. He is a great mentor who is always ready to teach, share his knowledge and bring out the best in them. He is not special for just one of these things, rather all of them. This is what he does every single day. And for that, he is a DAISY Nurse Leader.

Logan is a perfect example of what I think a Nursing Director should be. He is understanding, supportive, engaged, available, positive and optimistic. He is collaborative, always asking for feedback from his teams. He is an excellent resource that offers great ideas and provides encouragement. He is quick to jump in to help in any way he can, on and off the unit. He consistently asks what he can do to make our jobs easier. Logan is a strong nurse advocate, he tries to help us meet our unit, hospital, and organizational goals in any way he can. Logan truly cares about each of us as individuals, as well as each one of our team members.

Logan goes above and beyond as a leader every day. It is hard to find the words to express what he does for all of us each day. Not only is he responsive and present on the units, but he is approachable. I will never forget one of my most stressful days as a charge nurse during COVID, Logan would be gowned up going into rooms helping us with anything we needed on the unit, even if it was just changing the trash. Logan has continued to show that level of support for me and the team throughout my career at BayCare. He treats each of my ideas, thoughts or concerns with care and respect. He is a forward thinker and is constantly working towards what we can do to better the team and, ultimately, the patients. I am so proud to work with such a great leader, who truly embodies what BayCare stands for everyday!
