Lori Beayon went above and beyond the call of duty to help patients after her shift was over. After her shift, she went to her vehicle parked in the McElderry Parking Garage. The stairwell was out of order due to construction. She soon noticed that the elevators were not working either, after waiting for some time without one arriving. So, she ended up using the stairwell on the opposite side of the garage to get to her vehicle. She then noticed an elderly gentleman with a walker on the fifth floor, where her car was parked, waiting for the elevator. She explained to this gentleman that the elevator was out of order. She told him that she was a nurse at Hopkins and, if he would allow her, she would help him down to the first floor, which he gratefully accepted. While assisting this gentleman, Lori noticed another elderly couple waiting for the elevator. She offered them assistance as well, and they also gratefully accepted. She helped all three patients get safely down to the entrance and on their way to their destinations. The patients were very thankful for Lori's kind actions. Although she was off duty, Lori took it upon herself to help patients in need.
