Lori was acknowledged by an Organ Recovery Coordinator with LifeCenter Northwest for all the efforts she made during a recent case in which a patient was able to donate his heart, liver, and both kidneys:

Lori was so compassionate with this family by helping with memory-making. She stayed over her shift to help with the orders that had to be done before we could move to the OR and advocated for her patient’s comfort care medications. She collaborated with LCNW the entire time and did everything she could to help optimize this patient’s gifts. Lori was kind and empathetic to the family and the patient. It was six very busy hours, and she handled all of them with a calm presence. She used her critical thinking to anticipate orders regarding comfort care and orders regarding the patient’s current oxygenation.

There was a lot of work that went into this case and Lori was a huge part of that work. Her actions changed the lives of four recipients and gave them a second chance at life.
