As exemplified by the division and corporate initiatives she drives, Lori is a change agent leader who ensures the Capital Division team is compliant and meets expectations.
Lori is a clear example of one who walks the model of nursing professional development roles. As a Market Director, she remains closely connected with the front-line nursing staff by facilitating learning opportunities whenever needed to support her team and ensure a clear pathway to success for the nursing staff. As exemplified by the division and corporate initiatives she drives, Lori is a change agent leader who ensures the Capital Division team is compliant and meets expectations. She is engaged in the process of utilizing educational activities to support the change strategy. Lori is and has been a mentor to several DNP students and NPD practitioners and is steadily willing to accept more to share her knowledge and provide guidance. She ensures her team is developed and visible to showcase their talent by recommending them to division or corporate workgroups and ensuring they receive support during division presentations. Lori stretches herself to seek opportunities to utilize evidence-based practices to implement processes to improve and maintain efficiencies in the Capital Division.
She is also a model of a partner for practice transition by the following examples:
• Interim director of New Hampshire Market, in partnership with the Division Vice President, while ensuring her team remains supported and on task
• MyPath implementation
• Mastered HealthStream process to provide coverage during the time of vacancy
• Leads the General Nursing Orientation team for smooth onboarding of newly hired nurses and patient care techs
• Ensures Capital Division remains compliant with regulatory education requirements
Lori is not only an advocate for the NPD specialty; she also encourages and celebrates with team members who obtain certifications in their nursing specialty, including Nursing Professional Development, and team members who are pursuing or have completed an advanced degree. She helps non-NPD colleagues understand the roles of the NPD practitioner and assists in establishing a structure to meet expected outcomes and facilities' requests by building and strengthening relationships with key stakeholders. Lori is the only remaining original member of the Capital Division Directors team, demonstrating her commitment to this team and the NPD specialty.
