Lorie Hendrickson cared for me almost every night I was there. I couldn’t ask for more of her. I came to the ER and was having a hard time breathing; no oxygen was applied while I was in the ER. As soon as I got to MedSurg and she came in the room, the first thing she did was put on oxygen - almost immediately helped and allowed me to calm down. That evening, my daughter came to sit awhile, and I was so out of it I didn’t know she was there. Lorie came in and told her the oxygen was to make me comfortable and that I was ok. My daughter mentioned this several times and how it made her feel more calm. Lorie was always on time for what needed to be done, kept me supplied with water, asked if I needed anything, etc... She even helped my wife move another bed into my room so that she would have a place to sleep. This hospitalization was hard on me, my wife, and our two daughters. Because of Lorie’s skill and compassion, I felt safe enough at night that my wife could go home and be with the girls if needed, and I would be comfortable knowing Lorie was my nurse. She did so many things for me that I could never list them all. You can see that she really does care for her patients and does whatever she can for them. She is serious, funny, and caring - all at appropriate times. Having her as a nurse was like meeting a new friend. Thank you, Lorie, for everything!
