Lorie talks at length with patients and their families to make sure that the patient can and will be taken care of when they are discharged from the hospital.
When it comes to patients, she is the best advocate for them. Lorie ensures that every patient in the hospital has everything they need for discharge. She talks at length with patients and their families to make sure that the patient can and will be taken care of when they are discharged from the hospital. She goes above and beyond for every patient to make sure they have a safe discharge plan. I've seen her here early in the morning and stay late at night just to make sure everything gets done. She is definitely a great patient advocate for patients in the hospital and out. She follows up with every patient who has gone home to make sure they don't need anything else and that everything is going okay for them and their families. She will even assist with discharge plans when called at home on the weekends or after hours. There isn’t anything she won’t do to make sure our patients are safe and happy.
The second part of this relates to her assistance with staff and her co-workers. She has been a great support and listener during difficult times. She offers advice, but most importantly listens while I vent when things get hard. She is so understanding and caring and she perseveres through everything thrown at her. She always has a positive attitude and can lift others up when they are down. I really don't know what I would do if she was not available so I can ask questions and get her advice-as she seems to have unlimited wisdom and tact while dealing with even the most difficult people (me included).
In summary, Lorie is a rock when others are in a hard place. She is steadfast and hardworking and I feel she has everyone else's best interest in her heart of gold. She definitely deserves to be recognized for all she does for CRMC, our patients, and our staff.
