Lorma made me smile when I was feeling my worst.
Lorma welcomed me with pure empathy on how I was feeling. She made me feel really cared for, like she had known me for years (like family). My stay has been a rollercoaster trying to figure out what was wrong with me. Lorma made sure my vitals were good before she gave me any medications that would make it drop. I came in with two drains for two abscesses in my stomach. One of the bags was not working, and apparently, this type of drain bag is hard to find. She went out of her way to find a replacement bag and finally found one.
She was always aware of where she left off with my care and always followed up to make sure I was getting the care I needed. She listened to my concerns, and if she did not have an answer, she would find the answer and get back to me. Patients are in the hospitals for a reason. They need to be as comfortable and get rest. She was always so caring that she made sure to ask everyone to keep it quiet as much as possible so as not to wake the patients. I have been in the hospital for 7 going on 8 days; I am so thankful she is my nurse every day she works. She is off today; I am looking forward to her caring for me. It is really hard to find a caring, sweet, loving, and patient nurse these days. She made me smile when I was feeling my worst. Lorma would be the perfect nurse to get the DASIY Award. I will be back to definitely give her my gratitude and thank her again.
