Mrs. E had unresolved abdominal pain and came to the emergency department. She felt there was something seriously wrong and continued with her medical care after her emergency visit. At the emergency department Lorna Donahue, RN attentively listened to her concerns, advocated to assist her in her pain control and encouraged her to seek more care if needed. Mrs. E and her husband stated that Lorna was the best part of their emergency department visit, and felt that she should be recognized for her excellent care.

Lorna's supervisor states that Lorna has always been a very kind, compassinate, and patient-centered nurse. She is a solid rock when high acuity and when difficult situations come through the Emergency doors. Her co-workers appreciate her willingness to jump in and help anywhere she is needed. Lorna has also started teaching EKG classes for the newer staff and refresher classes to experienced staff looking to stay up on their skills. She is a very dependable nurse who not only advocates for her patients but also for her coworkers.
