Louann is an asset to the VA and a true DAISY Nurse. I don't remember how many times I have called to ask a question, but every time Louann has been there with her quiet demeanor and I have confidence in her to get the answers I need. Her knowledge of the VA is amazing. But if she doesn't have the answer she promptly gets back to you with important information or a name and number of someone who can help you. I have never felt during the many times I have spoken with her that my questions were either trivial or that she was in a hurry to get me off the phone.
Last year, my husband, the veteran, had one bad episode after the other. I was emotional several times when talking to her and the compassion and kindness in her voice was a blessing that helped me cope with his crisis. She was sympathetic, kind and helpful just by doing her job in such an outstanding way.
In her, I see a commitment to help not only the veteran but to help the family also. I see compassion for a veteran who has trouble with his speech or a family member who is under extreme pressure. She is a professional who never expresses herself in a negative way and is there to offer assistance and guidance at all times. She shows respect for everyone and is well respected herself.
Many of us have bad days and when we do, we might be a little less efficient or a little harsh with a comment or you can see the attitude on our face, but she always appears in control and steady.
She is an asset to the VA because she shows her professionalism, integrity, respect, commitment, and compassion to all.
She has helped us find programs and benefits to help ease my husband's life. I am very thankful that she is his nurse. I can count on her to help me take better care of him.
She is one of the reasons that I speak so highly of the VA because she represents you very well.
