It is evident from her positive attitude and kind personality that she truly cares about her patients. Lucy is truly exceptional.
I was inpatient for 19 days with an infection. Lucy stands out from the many outstanding nurses I met during my stay. Lucy first was my nurse on the day I had a drain put in and went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable. The smell from the drain was overpowering and Lucy gave me tools to deal with it like a mask and scented room spray. It made me feel better and more in control.
Lucy was my nurse many times after that as well and I knew it would always be a good day when she was there. Lucy is extremely attentive. She was always there as soon as my IV alarm went off and often she was there slightly before. This seems small, but I was on many different IV medications and the beeping got really grating. She would come and check to make sure everything was okay even when it was not time for meds or vitals. She is an extremely good communicator and always made sure to follow through.
After many days I was able to shower and Lucy made sure I was safe the whole time. When she thought I was being discharged before her next shift, she made sure to come and say good-bye after her very long day. I was in fact discharged, but had to be readmitted 2 days later. This time Lucy was my nurse when I was discharged. She patiently went over every medication with me and what time she had given them to me in the hospital and what time I should take it at home. She made sure I understood everything before I left. I felt much more settled than the first time I left. It is evident from her positive attitude and kind personality that she truly cares about her patients. Lucy is truly exceptional.
