Lynn Gunderson, RN, staff nurse in the Burn Treatment Center was nominated by a mother whose son Lynn cared for. She shared the following about Lynn's excellent nursing care for her son over several months:


My son was severely burned on over 70% of his body in a campfire accident. Lynn was the nurse who greeted us and started taking care of him right away. She became his primary nurse and took care of him over the two months that we were here. You cannot imagine the pain and anxiety that my son experienced. Lynn was always a calming force for Ryan; when no one could get him to do things that he needed, she could! She was such a loving and caring nurse for all of us. She went out of her way to always make us comfortable. Lynn has made a difference in my son's life. He is still having procedures done and will continue to have things done for a very long time. We still continue to stay on the burn unit and Lynn continues to take care of him when we are back. He enjoys seeing her and always feels comfortable with her. They have a very special relationship. I cannot stress enough how much Lynn deserves this award. A burn nurse is a special type of nurse that has to deal with very special issues! The burn unit itself is an amazing unit. The care we received is second to none! They saved his life and ours!
