There are so many incidences where I have felt safe and inspired because of her guidance and leadership. One of my first interactions with Tina was when I first started in ICU in late 2021, when she assisted me with taking care of my heart cath patient. She assisted me by looking up policies that I was not familiar with and by being supportive and respectful when I had questions. That was the first time that Tina made a significant impression. She was the first assistant director that I have come across who went above and beyond for me by assisting me with education, showing compassion, and leading her team with respect.

Furthermore, she still is an example of what leadership looks like. When we lost our Director in 2023, she stepped in as interim Director, where she demonstrated her dedication to her staff by leading us with inspiration, advocating, and uniting us through any unit changes that we faced. Enough cannot be said about how grateful I am to have her continue to lead us as our Clinical Manager. She has served PIH for over 20 years, and I believe it is time for her to be recognized not only as the Extraordinary Nurse that she has become but also as the golden glue that holds the ICU/CCU as a family.
