She showed so much strength before, during, and after the delivery. She is one of the people who held it together while our whole world was falling apart.
My husband and I came in for an elective induction on a Friday night. Everything was progressing great and Saturday morning we started to deliver our beautiful baby girl. During delivery, we developed a severe complication called shoulder dystocia and became a very difficult delivery requiring myself to go to the OR and my baby girl to be born unresponsive and headed to the NICU while CPR was being performed.
My nurse was my and my husband’s saving grace during this time, along with all of the nurses in the delivery room. She never left my side, encouraged me in every single way she could, ran back and forth no matter how tired she was, never complained not one time about herself. You could feel the compassion rolling out of her.
She cried for us, she prayed for us, she came in on her days off to check on us and the baby, and she told me she had never been so scared and worried before about a patient in her life. She checked on us even when I wasn’t her patient anymore. She showed so much strength before, during, and after the delivery. She is one of the people who held it together while our whole world was falling apart.
I could never thank her enough for everything she has done for my family. My baby girl is doing better and progressing while in the NICU. Our hope is to bring her home soon. I know that without her swift actions during delivery and her compassion, my baby girl and I would not be here. Our family is forever grateful and will never forget about her.
