I consider Madisen Baker to be the best nurse in the world! From the moment that we were assigned to our room, very weary and tired. She immediately came in, introduced herself, filled out the board, and with her overflowing bubbly personality instantly made us feel at home. She made us extra comfortable, provided us with blankets, pillows, and ice, and basically tucked us in. She explained what was going on in a way that we could understand, she joked around with us and made a very scary situation bearable.
Madisen instantly became our security blanket and was there every minute we needed her. She found out it was my mom's birthday and she went and got us both a birthday brownie. Additionally, my mom was not feeling well, and although I was the patient after she got me settled, she started helping my mom and suggested that she go down to the emergency room to get checked out. This proved to be just what was needed.
While she was taking care of me, she was also training someone and made sure that the trainee was getting training but also stepped in at any time that she needed. She was outgoing, knowledgeable, personable, giving, caring, fun yet professional, and so smart. She helped me go to the bathroom, changed my sheets, gave me medication, got me drinks, and made me feel safe and secure. I couldn’t wait for her to get back the following day because I missed her joy, her attention, and her overall caring spirit that just lightened the entire unit.
