I contacted Madison about a long-term wound patient's scheduled discharge. We had been notified in the afternoon that this patient would be discharging the next day and would need teaching from both the floor nurses and the wound nurses, as well as the patient would need any supplies ordered and explained in order to get her through the next few days before her appointment with outpatient wound. Madison came to the patient's bedside as soon as possible to help provide education for this patient.

Every time I have interacted with the wound care nurses it has been amazing. All of them are helpful, knowledgeable, and willing to answer any questions that I might have about patients with complicated wounds. Madison, there are no words to truly describe how much of an advocate you are for your patients. It is a pleasure to be your teammate and witness how hard you fight every single time and every single day that you are here at Renown.

One of many examples of you advocating for your patient was when you spent several shifts working with case management, outpatient wound care, and this patient's physician's office to ensure that she would have the resources for her difficult ostomy and wound care upon discharge. You even made a step by step power point for the patient's husband to follow in case they had issues over the weekend before their first appointment! That situation is one of many of how great you are. Thank you for always being there for the team and thanks for being an inspiration to us all. You are my hero!
