Madison went above and beyond to make the Christmas season extra special for an adult patient with special needs who was in our Medical Intensive Care Unit during that time. The patient was in good spirits about having to be in the hospital at Christmas, but was afraid that Santa would not be able to find him on Christmas Eve. Madison called her grandfather, who dresses up as Santa for his church, and asked if he could pay a special visit to our patient. Madison's grandfather came from out of town to visit the patient and when he entered the patient's room, the patient said, "Hi Santa, how's Rudolph?" Santa gave the patient presents that the nurses on the unit had bought for the occasion and the smile never left the patient's face. Thanks to Madison, Santa found this patient and made his Christmas merry! Madison's actions demonstrate her ongoing commitment toher patients' needsandtouched the hearts ofthe patientand our staff.
