Donna's knowledge, skills, and optimism are good qualities of a leader.
Donna is a true asset to the operating room. Donna’s knowledge of many specialties in OR allows her to take on many roles within the department. Donna is currently a staff nurse IV, charge nurse, and is the lead of Maxillofacial service. Donna has the phenomenal ability to lead any service because she communicates well with her OR team and offers support in any way she can.
As a charge nurse, Donna exemplifies good leadership. She makes sure that she helps open the rooms to facilitate first-case starts and follow-up for efficient turnover of spaces. Her knowledge, skills, and optimism are good qualities of a leader. She is always present whenever we have trauma, keeping the trauma patient warm and safe during the procedure. She makes sure that the team has everything they need from the start to the end of the case until they go to PACU or ICU for recovery.
