Mae has been co-chairing the nursing unit council at LC and making significant contributions to better patient outcomes through elevating nursing practice standards.
Mae was an internationally trained RN, but she worked as an RPN at LC for many years while she was navigating through the system to get her RN license. She was one of the strongest nurses we have on the unit. She always goes above and beyond for her patients and colleagues. When she told me she got her RN license, it was like a mother hearing her daughter graduate from college because Mae's capacity for working beyond her title was evident. She is very passionate about nursing, and her knowledge and professionalism are outstanding. She always thinks about what's best for the patient and what she can do to support her peers. She is the most sought-after mentor in the unit.
Often, new staff will come to my office and tell me how helpful and knowledgeable she is and how her unique abilities make them feel supported. Her colleagues have nothing but the best to say about her teamwork spirit and collaboration. Most importantly, our patients notice the difference and ask me to hire more nurses like Mae. Mae has been co-chairing the nursing unit council at LC and making significant contributions to better patient outcomes through elevating nursing practice standards. I have worked in rehab healthcare for the last 20 years, but nurses like Mae are rare to find. I am blessed to have her as part of my team. I hope we can acknowledge her outstanding work.
