This is our second visit to Levine Children's Hospital this year. My son D was admitted in July, and while we never had Maggie as our nurse, she was always kind and would have fun with him in the hallway. We went home for a few weeks and unfortunately had to be admitted for a longer stay. Once again, Maggie not only made herself available for playing with my son in the hallway in passing, but she also had a warm smile and good conversation for me as well. When we finally got Maggie as our nurse she was amazing with D. He would laugh through getting his blood sugar checked, his Lovenox shots and getting his IV flushed. D is usually very outgoing and friendly but up until we had Maggie as his nurse, he was becoming wary of anyone who came into our room. Not only did she restore his trust in nurses, but she made him laugh. They came up with a secret hand shake and became the founding members of "Team Krabby Patty". Now all of is nurses he has encountered on 8 are Team Krabby Patty and that makes them trustworthy in his eyes. Maggie made receiving care for them so fun that he has stated he does not want to go home anymore because here he has his team. Maggie is by far the best nurse we have received care from in D's 5 years of life and she will always have a place in our hearts.
