For the days we spent in the ICU were the most challenging days of our life however, the nurses were stellar! The most memorable one throughout our stay was Mahmoud Alazzeh. My first contact with Mahmoud proved that this nurse was very knowledgeable about the type of procedure I had undergone. He was able to explain to my father and me in understandable terms the procedure I had undergone.

Mahmoud took the time to explain every tube that was hooked up to my father and its purpose, the same for all the medications my father was on and taking. For the two days that we had Mahmoud, I felt extra secure and cared for. He proved to be a good listener as well. When we told Mahmoud our story, he never tried to rush us but instead listened and responded with kindness and courtesy. My family felt reassured on those two days that I had Mahmoud caring for me and that we were in the best hands! They felt welcomed and comfortable at my bedside on those two days.

For these reasons, I highly recommend Mahmoud Alazzeh for the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses because he is indeed an extraordinary person! This nurse also visited me when I left the ICU which truly showed he genuinely cares! Thank you, Mahmoud.
