It is not only her caring delivery of care that make Makayla deserving of this award, but her constant drive to want to challenge herself, motivate others, and strive to continue to learn. Makayla has played an important role in the Shared Governance Nursing Professional Council. She brings ideas to this group that has sparked incredible changes in our nursing department. Makayla spoke at one of our unit staff meetings and her excitement and energy motivated her peers to bring new ideas of things to work on to improve our nursing processes.
She has taken the initiative to take on the charge RN role more frequently and has been precepting new RNs. Makayla welcomes more responsibility, leadership experience, and opportunities to share her knowledge.
