Malcolm endeavors to be a supportive team member every day through small acts of positivity in his encounters and his kindness with the patients and staff who float to the unit. The most noticeable aspect of Malcolm's team support is how he will guide others into achieving a collective goal of patient care by answering every call light, teaching support staff how to properly weigh a patient, helping anyone draw blood, and selflessly taking on other precepting duties simply to help create a better environment for patients and staff. 

Malcolm, though opinionated, does not complain if extra responsibilities are added to his daily work. One night, I unexpectedly absorbed a patient assignment in addition to the role of charge nurse and unit secretary while multiple admissions were on the way to the unit. Malcolm took it upon himself to answer call lights when I was visibly doing other roles and he passed everyone of my patients mediations even though he already had a full patient assignment.

He is the perfect example of what I want to see in all team members. A team-based approach, caregiver, positivity during challenging scenarios, and always wanting to help.
